I have spent some time working on the new webstore. Today I thought I would take a little time out to create a new blog to go with the webstore. I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to spend with me, so I wanted to take a moment to officially welcome you to the Eluna Jewelry webstore and the Eluna Jewelry Blog.
Recently I decided to check out Audible and I decided to start at the first lecture on the Great Courses channel, because, well you start at the beginning. Thus I began listening and enjoying my first escapade into the world of Audible. It turns out that first lecture, “The Power of Awareness” was about being mindful.
After listening to the lecture, I got to thinking about when I am really mindful in my day to day life. I realized that I am actually in a mindful state when I create. In that moment, my mind is entirely on what I am doing. I am focused and aware on myself and my work when creating.
You are probably thinking, yeah but aren’t you focused and aware all the time. And my answer would honestly be, No! Normally my brain is running at high speed. I am normally juggling two or three thoughts at any given time, and it makes me easily distractible. (Ok, so maybe that is an understatement)
What was I talking about? Oh yeah, the lecture. After listening to the lecture, I was thinking about how I feel when I create jewelry. And I realized that is one of the few times my brain slows down.I can just be in the moment when I create. I believe that is one of the key reasons I continue to find peace with jewelry making.
But inner peace is not the only reason I love this work. I have always been the type of person that is enchanted with finding something new in nature. I have been entranced with the natural art all around us. And how sometimes that art is found in the least likely places. Take a geode for example. Outside it looks like a dirty chunk of rock, but when you break it open, it shows off its inner beauty. I personally believe that each one of us has an inner beauty just beneath the surface.
With each piece of jewelry that I design, I aim to create a minimalist design that accents natural beauty. From the simple silver earrings, to the handmade sea glass bracelets and necklaces, each piece is designed to show off the inner beauty that shine through.
I love silver, but you could already tell that, right? But I also love stones. One of the perks of this job is getting to look at so many types of precious and semi-precious gemstones.I honestly think I could spend days looking at all the colors and patterns found in those stones. Did I mentioned a love for natural art before? And it is really so much fun to be able to go into a gem show and pick and choose my new stones. These are some of the amazing cabochons I got at the last gem show I attended.
As you can probably tell, I have a love of stones.
So I don’t want to take up all your day. I will ask that if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to leave them below for me. I will answer your questions as soon as I can. So please ask away!
