Happy New Year’s everyone! I hope for you all this will be your best year yet!
For me though I am changing things around a bit. I cannot seem to keep a "New Year’s Resolution." A vague "I will do better" promise to myself that I cannot seem to remember come March. And by the time I start working on these resolutions, the goal seems so big and so unattainable. So, this year, I have decided my time will be better spent setting smaller monthly goals.
I bought my 2020 calendar in November and started planning what I wanted to accomplish each month. I have set one mini goal for each month and that is what I will work on. Each mini goal is related to the vague "I will do better" idea, and in theory this will add up to the "Better" with less stress. Since I am focusing on the mini goal, I don't have as far to go. It is kind of like focusing on putting one foot in front of the other, rather than focusing on the 10 miles you have left to go.
Whether this idea of setting mini monthly goals will work or not for me, only time will tell. But you never know until you try.
My big goal for 2020 is to do a better job of keeping in touch with my customers.
To start this off, I created a quick monthly calendar. Then I defined what "keeping in touch with my customers would entail." I then broke that goal into smaller monthly goals. And added a couple of other known monthly engagements into the monthly calendar.
Here is what my monthly calendar looks like.
From this point, I can define which blogs to post and what to include in the newsletters. Breaking it all down, makes it easier to keep up with my goals and hopefully easier to reach my big goal in the end.
So how about you? How are you planning to accomplish your New Year’s Resolution this year?
